Workers Compensation and Medical Benefits
Have you been the unfortunate victim of a workplace injury? We are ready, willing and able to help you gain the compensation you very much deserve.
We do not charge any legal fees to represent you with your workers compensation case, if we don’t win your case you don’t pay any of our fees. In fact, we make the insurance company pay our legal fees and provide you the medical benefits and lost wages you deserve when they drag out scheduling your medical appointments or deny treatment, didn’t send your paycheck on time or just stopped calling you back.
The good news
Florida law states that most employers must insure their employees for injuries that occur while on the job and while carrying out work-related activities. The good news is that under a worker’s compensation policy, employees are compensated for occupationally incurred injuries, regardless of fault. This includes medical care, lost wage reimbursement, and out of pocket expenses. Of course, the nature and extent of the benefits depend on whether your injury created no disability, partial disability, or permanent disability.
Worried about your boss firing you if you report an injury or hire an attorney?
Many injured workers fear losing their job if they report an injury to their boss or if they hire an attorney, however this is incorrect. Not only is it a violation of Florida Law to be fired for reporting a work-related injury but having an attorney on your side causes all parties involved to follow the law or be held accountable.
The bad news
Time is of the essence since you only have 30 days to report your injury to a boss or supervisor at your job. If you fail to report the injury within this time frame your case may be denied. While there are some exceptions to this, contact our office to set up a free consultation so we can explain your rights even if you are outside the 30 day window.
